Halkidiki (also known as Chalkidiki or Khalkidiki (Greek: Χαλκιδική)) is a famous Greek peninsula located in the North of Greece – close to the city of Thessaloniki (in the southeastern portion of Central Macedonia). Halkidiki consists of a large peninsula in the northwestern Aegean Sea and resembles a hand with three fingers (in Greek, these ‘fingers’ are referred to as legs).
